Social Development reiterates determination to improving upon SASSA financial support

Social Development Minister Sisisi Tolashe has pledged her support and commitment to improving upon South African Social Security Company (SASSA) services throughout an engagement together with the agency's senior professionals in a strategic setting up session in Cape Town.
Tolashe on Tuesday expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the various social grant beneficiaries, who excelled during the 2024 matric examinations.
In the 724 156 full-time learners who registered for the National Senior Certification (NSC), 572 338 are social grant beneficiaries, representing eighty one% with the registered pupils in the education sector.
These learners obtained a commendable pass rate of 86%.
"This means the investment decision national government is generating within the life of poor and susceptible small children is yielding a beneficial effect in breaking intergenerational poverty," Tolashe stated.
